Monthly Dinner Meeting at Holders Country Inn:
The meeting starts at 6 pm, club business usually begins about 7:30 pm.
After dinner our speaker is Buzz Graves who will speak about his Bay Tour by glider. Mr. Graves first flying experience was in 1976, flying hang gliders off sand dunes near El Paso, Texas. He then started flying gliders with the Tucson Soaring Club in 1982 and became a CFI/Glider in 1987.
His first cross-country experience was flying a Schweizer SGS 1-26D. He moved to Hawaii in 1989 and flew out of Dillingham providing tourist rides in his Schleicher ASW 17.
In 2001 he moved to the Bay Area and joined the Northern California Soaring Association as a CFI/Glider. He has also been the lead pilot at the AirSailing cross-country camp for the last 8 years. He is a Soaring Society of America Master Cross Country Instructor and has been flying BG, a Flugzeugbau DG-800 motor glider for the last four seasons. He has accumulated over 3000 hours in gliders.
